My First Blog Post

Hello Everyone, as you may have guess I am new to this whole blogging thing, I’ve heard about it and thought about writing. Though I never took the time to actually do it, I guess I was scared and didn’t really want my thoughts or writing out in the world, because I thought “who would listen?” So I never really did anything, but for one of my assignments in my college class we have to make a blog, and I was and still am a little hesitant to do it but at the same time; I want to show people my writing in a way.

Though the real question what are you going to write about? I could write about many things, but I technology and I love history so I thought I would combine the two. I notice kids today don’t realize how good they have it in a way, they have everything at their finger tips, but they don’t know the struggle of having to tape your favorite show with a VCR or burning your favorite songs onto a CD. I want to take the time to teach whoever reads my blogs about these many things, because even if learning seems boring in some people’s eyes. Learning about tech is always fun, so stay tuned with me while we go through this journey together and I hope you like what I put out.

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Technology Part 3

Finally we have reached the end of the road and for this last section I will be talking about two things, E-commerce and m-commerce.

You’re probably have never heard of E-commerce, E-commerce is the the process of buying and selling goods through using the internet. The first ever sale happened on August 11th 1994 a man sold a CD from the band Sting to a website called NetMarket an American retail platform, and because of this transaction eCommerce has become a big thing when it comes to internet sales and purchases.

Finally we have M-commerce, it is the same as E-commerce except it is done through your mobile phone. As you may have noticed a lot of people if they aren’t in front of a laptop or a desktop computer, people use their phones to buy many things. Amazon is a big example of that because from a click of a button you can automatically buy and purchase something from your phone. You can do your grocery shopping from a click of a button and pick them up later it’s simply amazing what you can do from your phone, and it’s nice how far M-commerce and E-commerce have come a long way.

Technology part 2

Welcome to Technology part 2, now I know what you’re thinking, how many parts can there be? Well no worries there are only three parts of this and you’ll enjoy every minute of it, I hope. In this section we will be talking about methods of communication, the first item we will be talking about is Social Media. Everyone knows what social media is, weather it’s twitter, Instagram, Tumblr or Snapchat; they are things that could either help you or hurt you. Me I have Instagram and Tumblr, I don’t post a lot of stuff much, but it’s nice to have those types of social media if you talk to someone that isn’t in your same area so to speak. If you have a significant other that lives in another state or country then Social media is good for you to stay in touch, though as we use social media we sort of lose ourselves along with it. We crave likes on our pictures, or responses and that’s not right, we never used to crave that attention from people we didn’t care about before.

Then you have Email, Email is a great invention that allows you to send electronic mail through the internet to other people, it’s useful because when you are thinking about applying for a job you need an Email. Email helps you communicate with a lot of people and I remember when I first created my first email address, we had to do a project for school, and we needed to make an Email for our teacher so she could see how the progress went and I still have it to this day. Now do I use it Primarily as my main one? no, but who doesn’t have multiple Emails. It’s just another thing to have when using the internet.

Next we have Wiki’s and Blogs, now if you have spent a lot of your time on the internet then you know a lot about these two items. Blogs are what you are reading, people writing down their thoughts to other people, and I personally like blogs because I believe it can help people. If you have social anxiety or have a hard time talking to people, then writing a blog is perfect, because it’s like talking to other people who like the same things as you and you may even find a friend. Wiki’s are websites that allow you to create, delete and edit information, there are many different Wiki’s for many different subjects; and it’s like you’re having a debate with other people when you edit those Wiki’s or add information. You’re talking to other people in a way, yet giving them more information about different subjects as well.

Next you have Podcasts and Webcasts, when you think of podcasts you think of people talking about regular everyday things. Podcasts and Webcasts have become the new books in a way, people want to know what’s going on in other people’s minds and have a discussion about many topics. Now if you are an older person and don’t like to sit there and listen to someone then I believe you are more suited for a webcast. They are visual and help you see the actual interview instead of just sitting there wondering what the expressions look like, did they find what they said amusing? You know that type of stuff, my mother is like that “I love interviews, weather it’s a celebrity or not, just seeing them interact with one another is better than having Alexa read me my book.” So if you don’t like podcasts I would recommend you try webcasts because they are interviews that you can see.

Finally we have the last subject of Technology part 2 and that is streaming media.

Streaming media has come a long way from when it was just sharing files over the internet, now a lot of people prefer streaming their favorite shows from Hulu and Netflix. It has become a lot more affordable to watch TV, sure some people still have cable, but it’s a lot more expensive to have cable TV then to have Hulu for 9.99 a month. Me personally I have Netflix and Hulu because it has so much content and you can watch what you would watch on regular TV for a cheaper price.

Technology

Brief history of the Internet and Security Issues. When you think of the internet you think of something that has been around for as long as you can remember. Though does anyone know when the internet actually took off? Well in the 1900s Nikola Tesla toyed with the idea of a “world wireless system” but it wasn’t until the 1930s and 1940s when amazing thinkers Paul Otlet and Vannevar Bush conceived searchable storage systems. It wasn’t until the 1960s that MIT’s J.C.R Licklider popularized the idea of an “intergalactic network” of computers. In 1969 the first internet prototype ARPANET delivered it’s first “node-to-node” communication from one computer to another. It’s amazing how much the internet has changed from a theory, to deliver it’s first communications to another computer. Today the internet is a vast space of knowledge at our finger tips, but as uncle Ben says “with great power comes great responsibility.” Though unfortunately in the internet’s case with great power comes great security risks. When you think of using the internet you also need to think of the risks that come with using the internet, you could be hacked, you could risk getting your identity stolen and so many things that could happen to you. When using the internet you need to be careful and use adblocks, use a good virus protection and make sure everything is secure. Introduction

My name is Sakura Imaichi, now that’s obviously not my real name as you’ve probably already guessed. I’m here to discuss with you Technology in the world, weather it’s old or new, or weather the readers or older or newer. I want to make a blog that can be informative and also a fun reading, and that you learn something from.

Here on my blog I will discussing different types of tech and sometimes I will go into the nerdy side and discuss the history of the many tech we use today; wouldn’t that be fun? Sure some people may find it boring, but you have a lot of people growing up today that may not know a lot about the different type of tech we use. For Example a payphone, we all know what payphones, those funny looking phone booths that are rarely seen now a days. You would make collect calls to home and carry around a bunch of change, even though it made your pocket jingle. Though if you try to explain that to a kid, they won’t know what you mean, and that’s why I’m here I want kids and parents alike to know many things about tech and I hope you all have a good time discussing tech with me.
